Pet Hair and how to remove it!
Whether your four-legged friend sleeps in their own bed, on the sofa or on your bed, there is a common theme. Pet hair! It gets everywhere and seems to breed. In this blog we look at some tried and tested methods for helping to remove the ‘pet glitter’.
Top Tips:
- Lint roller
Using a lint roller is the easiest way to remove pet hair from bedding. If your pet sleeps with you every night try to do this every couple of days. Also great for removing from your clothes too.
- Vacuum
If you’re trying to remove pet hair from your mattress or dog bed, then using the vacuum is a great solution. This method may not work as well on loose fabric such as bedding but it should still pick up the majority of the hairs.
- Tumble dryer
Running your bedding in the tumble dryer for ten minutes can help get rid of pet hair. Just remember to clean the filter out afterwards! If you are doing this with pet bedding, check first that it can be tumble dried and only do it for a maximum of ten minutes.
- Anti-static spray
Anti-static sprays prevent fibres and other particles from sticking to fabrics. You can spray this on to bedding to prevent their hair from clinging; double check the spray you purchase is SAFE for animals. This should make the clean-up process easier.
- Combine the methods
If you’re having trouble vacuuming up the pet hairs, spray some of your anti-static spray first which can help lift the hair fibres, making them much easier to collect.
